I notice they are still parroting the lies that the automatic and heavy weapons the cartels are using are being smuggled from the US. I thought even Janet Napolitano would have got the news, that the Dept. of Defense was *shipping* those weapons to the Mexican police and army - who are losing the weapons to deserters turning a fast buck. Which is where the cartels come in, buying the weapons stolen from the Mexican police and army.
Having worked on government procurements in the past - I can't say the story reads all that optimistically. The way the Boeing rep talks, it will be two or three more contract cycles before the system actually does what it is intended to do. This delivery is about people keeping their jobs, not about a working system.
