I was cruising through Heartless Libertarian's place and stumbled onto this post. A couple/ few more purchases will be practical but the rest will just be wonderful additions to my collection. A person has got to collect something and I collect guns. I figured it was a good time to throw in some gratuitous gun porn. I do plan to purchase several more firearms which are on this list. However unless I stumble into a whole bunch of money (or Santa is real nice to me) I will never get a lot of these. Some I may never stumble into and even if finances are not an issue my practicality would probably keep me from buying a few. The guns I am actively planning to purchase will get an *. Without further adieu here is the wish list.
Short:
Stainless Walther PPK/S .380 These are just such nice little guns. They carry really easily and shoot pretty darn nice, not for a little pistol but for a pistol period. If nothing else it would be nice to have a dress gun. *
Smith and Wesson Model 64. I love the model 10 and having a new stainless version would be great. Instead of hunting for an old Mod 10 I will get one of these.
A nice old S&W Model 19 6". The older the better. A few years back I really wanted one of these guns but they always seemed to slip into and out of the used display at the local gun shop before I could scrape up the cash. I would be happy with any one I could afford that was in decent condition but would love it to have the nickel finish. This is my grail gun.
A spare Glock 19. *
HK P7. I don't have much of a reason for this one except I want one. This is a wish list not a practical reasons and good deals list.
A stainless Beretta 92fs. I am familiar with them thanks to work and they are good guns. Also I have a bunch of accessories for them already lying around.*
A Browning High Power. These were the classic wonder 9 while cops were still carrying .38's. Made by John Moses Browning and still a darn good gun today.
4" lightweight Commander sized .45. Not quite sure about a particular maker but it will probably be Springfield or Kimber.*
Scatter:
EAA gauge Bounty Hunter 12 with external hammers. Got the internal hammer version a few years ago and while I enjoy its sleek lines I really wish I had gotten the hammered version as it is more traditional and I could keep it loaded safely. Would consider selling mine down the road to purchase one of these but they are cheap enough I will probably just keep the one I have and get the new one.*
1897 Trench Gun. Unless I stumble into mad movie money it will be a Norico. One of those with the big bayonet would be real cool and they are historic to boot. *
Long:
One of those neat little take down survival .22 rifles. These are just real neat and I want one.*
A real nice little bolt action .22. *
A nice 20" flat top AR. Probably an Oly but I am not that picky about manufacturers as long as it is someone reputable. *
Springfield M1A * (if I was rich I would get a SOCOM II also just for the sake of it) I don't really like the other .308's but the M1A is just awesome. For me this is the rifle that says "I have all the cool rifles I want". They are a lot more expensive but I would rather wait and get the one I want then get something else now.
A real like example of the AK-47. Probably one of those Arsenal ones made in Nevada.
M1 Carbine. Of the rifles listed so far this is probably the least practical. I love these neat little carbines and would love to have one in the safe. Ideally it will be an old surplus one, maybe from CMP.
Marlin 30-30.* Not much to say about this one they are just good guns and I want one.
A real nice bolt rifle. If I get an M1a (will unless there is a ban or something) it will be in .308 but otherwise it would be a 30.06*
Steyre AUG. These were the coolest new rifle when I was a kid who loved guns. They basically went away for a long time and now that I am an adult who makes a bit of money they are back. These are just really cool and I would love to own a bullpup. This is low on the real life I actually plan to purchase list but it is there.
FN- SCAR. I would be very surprised if this does not end up being the rifle we adopt when the M4 gets passed to the way side. If we get them I will get one.
Thus endith the list.
Fuck me running. I just realized the actively planning to purchase was a dozen guns. The good thing is that of the guns on this list most are not particularly expensive. Only the lightweight .45, 20" flat top AR and M1A and probably the .308/ 30.06 bolt gun (already got the scope) cost more then $600. The expensive ones will be harder but purchasing two guns a year is realistic for me so if we factor in a couple bumps it should be attainable in 7-8 years baring major anti 2A legislation. After that I would probably reassess things and make some more purchases from the wish list.

Good list. The S&W Model 19 is a great revolver and the EAA Bounty Hunter is well worth the money and an excellent bedside companion.

Well, I can't help with some of those new weapons, which I admit I don't even recognize. But wait til I croak, and then get in touch with my son. He has already announced his intention of selling off my collection before I'm cold. He can supply your needs from that. But hurry when you hear I'm gone, least South American dictators contact him first and buy the whole lot. By the way I have two Walther PPK pistols. One is the stainless one you mentioned, one is a 1963 production German gun, blued. I like the blued gun but keep it safe in the box. If I can't wear a vest (hence no shoulder holster) I wear a nice pig skin in the belt holster and carry the stainless PPK.
M.D. Creedmore, Thanks. Hopefully those will both end up residing in my home. Certainly the EAA Bounty Hunter is easy enough to find and affordable.
Hermit, I will have to keep that in mind but hopefully you are around for some time to come. The good thing about my wish list is that almost all them are readily available so I should not have too many issues finding them and most are relatively affordable.
That is a good list. For a good bolt .22, I'd recommend the CZ 452 or if can be found, its parent Brno #1. But the 452 will do in a pinch - sweet rifle!
Also, if you are a reloader, consider the .410 shotgun. I figure when / if SHTF, shooting game on wing will be a thing of the past, so the need for a lot of shot will only damage meat needlessly. A smaller payload would help there, as well as save on shot itself, which will be in short supply. A long barrelled .410 might be worth considering - I know Academy sells a cheap (just over $100) .410 single shot called the Yildiz. About a 28" long barrel, which will quiet that gun a bit. Too, it folds quite compactly, even able to fit a rucksack if said ruck isn't too small.
Yeah, I know a bit weird, but think about it, it won't be all killing Zombies and Blue Beanies, and the .410 has enough spread to kill small game / birds dead. Gotta reload though, as factory .410 cost is reedickulusss!
That .30 carbine is cool, but I think a .357 lever carbine would serve much the same purposes and you'd have a far easier time finding the ammunition, less expensive too.
