Quit Bitching- First Rant in Awhile

I am tired of people bitching and griping about bankers and 'the elite' plus of course the trilateral commission or some other such junk. [Now if you are complaining about how the derivative collapse and or government bailouts affected you fair enough. That isn't what I am talking about.] People who claim to be pro freedom but bitch about how someone else (legally) makes a lot of money are fucking posers at best. These folks want to have their cake and eat it too but do not have the guts to live in a truly free world where people are allowed to borrow and loan money at whatever terms both parties agree to. If you want to be a communist that is fine and good but at least be honest.

First of all class warfare has nothing to do with libertarianism or freedom. Don't begrudge anyone else the ability to (legally) earn a lot of money. I am sorry their skills are more valued than yours and their business sense is better but tough shit. If you want to make more money get better skills and make better decisions, nobody is holding you back but yourself.

If you don't like the terms a bank will offer you then don't borrow their money. As for bitching about how they just jacked up the rate on your credit cards I ask why are you carrying a credit card balance. If you don't want them to be able to change the interest rate on a loan then do not take a loan with an adjustable interest rate. This ain't fucking rocket science.

The bankers are not ruining your life, nobody forced you to take their money. I am honestly sorry if you got a [reasonably priced fixed rate] mortgage and now you can't pay it because of a job loss or whatever. That is a sad situation but it is not 'bankers' fault that you lost your job or whatever.

Running up a bunch of debt you can't service and then blaming bankers for your shitty financial situation is like eating 3 big mac's for lunch every day and complaining that 'donalds made you fat. YOU ARE AN ADULT WHO MADE CHOICES so fucking own up to your responsibility for those choices.

If you don't want bankers to be involved in your life then don't have any debt. Fuck don't even have a bank account, keep your earnings in a coffee can. Do like Dakin and Creekmore and get yourself a couple acres and a travel trailer (purchased with cash) and live off grid but stop fucking bitching.

There is nothing wrong with making money legally. If you provide a service/product people want and they are willing to pay for it, you're ahead of the game. The person who runs the business always experiences the greater risk. Sometimes they win big. Just as often, they go under.

I agree with your comments about bankers.

I"ve never understood, how seemingly intelligent people feel a need to incorporate the use of filth in their vocabulary to get their points across. I enjoy your perspective by am offended by your use of profanity. Bye bye!

Amen.

LL, We seem to look at this the same way.

Al Viscardi, Gosh I am not sure how I will survive without you reading my blog. All of your productive comments and general helpfulness will surely be missed.

Michael, Hallelujah.

I would have used a different vocabulary;) but I completely agree with the sentiment.

Jungle Mom, I try not to have every 4th word be a curse but sometimes it is part of the way I speak. Glad you agree.

Its his blog, he can fucking say what he wants. If you people who are sooo fucking offended by his choice of words, then don't fucking read his blog.

Sheesh, what a bunch of whiney fucking babies.

By the way, I totally agree with your blog entry!!

9:11, Thanks for the support. I try to sort of censor myself and not constantly curse but it happens. Glad you agree.

Crucis said...

Amen brother! Preach it.

There seems to always be some who must blame others for their own ineptitude and lack of motivation.

First on the list: school drop-outs.

Richard said...

Agreed. I even agree with the cursing :)

TOR,
You have never offended me. You have every right on your blog to say what you please however you please. Its not like I haven't heard it, I have spent a lot of time around Marines after all, being married to a third generation Marine.

Anonymous,
I didn't say I was offended, I said I would have used different vocabulary. Good grief, can't a lady be a lady!

I totally agree, I am sick of people blaming banks and credit card companies for the trouble that they got themselves into.

I don't think the banks are making these morons buy a bunch of crap that they don't need. I think it's funny that the same people who complain about the economy are the same idiots out there buying crap they don't need at Walwart and Best Buy

The problem is Personal responsibility... how many people who cry about the government spending our money or going into debt are in debt themselves? can we expect the government to

Spot on.

It is very easy to blame the bankers, the insurance companies, the oil companies, et al, for our ills.

This is all eerily similar to Atlas Shrugged. Blame the successful business for your failures, then punish them through taxation and business restraints - all in the name of "fairness". Unions come to mind.

The producers will say, "fuck it", fold up their tent. Commerce will continue, but it will be on the black market. See how well that worked out for the USSR.

If using the f-word causes someone to get their panties in a twist, they're *really* gonna come unglued when TEOTWAWKI happens.

Right on man. But we aren't playing on a level playing field when bankers get money at Zero and lend it out at 20percent and if shit goes south, get a frickin bailout.

I think BOTH the bankers and the so called "innocent borrowers" both need a kick in the A double SS. And you know what? If the freakin free market was allowed to work, both would get a giant foot enema.

I cannot agree more. We are all responsible for our own actions. Accept it and live with it.

I have no problem with anyone getting rich. Isn't that the American dream. I would bet that more than 99% of the folks out there would like to earn a lot more. That's human nature. Unfortunately, so is jealousy and there's way too much of that. Want to prosper? Get moving and do something about it! It's not going to happen on its own.

As for the profanity, it's YOUR right to post to YOUR blog the way YOU choose. People can choose to read, don't read or just go & write their own damn blog. People ought to get over themselves already.

after reading the comments all i can say is.... you are absolutely fucking right. and that was the most fucking honest and fucking true peice of literature i have ever fucking read. except.... we should all learn to differntiate between whats legal and illegal vs. whats right and wrong. sometimes there is a difference.. that was in reference to making money legally.. and by the way... fuck fuck

You run up any debt on a credit card and it's your problem, as long as you make the payments on time the business arraignment is fine. When the bank changes the due date for the payment and you miss the change it's your fault. When the bank uses that as an excuse to raise the rate from 15% to 33% it's greed. Greed pure and simple.
There are those who would say that was 'good business' on the part of the bank, I see it as greed.

I read that the USA is #1 in medical costs and #37 in quality, that you can actually find numbers for the people who die each year because they can't afford medical care. I have seen the numbers of families forced into bankruptcy due to medical bills and I still find people that support this system.

Maybe it's me getting older, maybe it's all the propaganda from both sides. When I see unveiled greed by banks praised, when I see a medical system who's reason for being is profit, when I see lives ruined and people die because of greed I know something is wrong.

When I see those actions defended I just don't know what to think. We are a rich nation, but if greed is the only thing that matters I wonder what will come after we are gone.

So sorry! It was just my many years as a mother coming forward. I never meant for this to happen.

Jungle Mom, Occasionally someone comes by here and reads something then gets offended and leaves a comment saying such.

You did nothing wrong and are not in any way at fault. I think the comments are towards Al V.

RIGHT ON!

I think this is a brilliant post to be honest.

We have become an "it's everyone's fault but mine" nation.

If someone wants to be angry at someone, the best people to be angry with would be the gunvermin, whose interventionist policies and Federal Reserve puppet created the milieu in which the banks can offer loans to anyone with a pulse, without having to be fiscally responsible. Why would banks be responsible if they aren't required by a free market to be able to cover their deposits? Why do they have to be responsible if the gunvermin are going to bail them out.

Voting for the gunvermin that enabled the banks to have such leeway, and then complaining about it? It's like throwing birdseed on your car, and becoming upset when it gets shat upon.

TOR, first of, let me just say: Fuck Fuck Fuckity Fuck. Now that I have that out of the way...

I love this post. I have touched on this topic in minor ways on my own blog, but I have never dedicated an entire post to it. You are absolutely right. A lack of motivation often leads to jealousy, and that jealousy is what spawns the greed debate.

I have someone that I call family who throws the "greed argument" out there all the time, but never really takes into consideration the economics involved with being rich.

"What does that greedy fucker need a 10 million dollar yacht for?"

First off, who are you to say what another person can or can not own if he has the means and acquired it legally? Secondly, someone has to navigate and drive the yacht for him. Jobs are created. Third, someone has to build the yacht, most probably in a union shipyard. Jobs are created.

Sorry, I will get off my soapbox now. You have inspired me to do a similar post on my blog. Thanks!

PS-- Fuck!

ANOTHER really good post!

Personal responsibility is one of the virtues of all libertarians that I know.

And I blame the Marines for teaching me so many unique ways to cuss, but I am working on controlling the cussing. So I understand Al V.'s *perspective* but golly gee, dag nabbitt, any blog with "rantfest" in the title is bound to have a few expletives.

CARRY ON, RANTFEST DUDE!

Crucis said...

Occdude, banks don't get money at zero rate. They have to pay interest to the feds just like everyone else. The larger banks get the prime rate, smaller banks get money at a higher rate.

The difference between the bank's rate from the fed and the rate given to their client used to be their profit. Now, subtract the extra accounting and reporting---fed's constraints on the consumer rate with an increase in the fed rate and the banks are caught in a squeeze play.

Higher cost of the product (money from the fed), fixed retail price (interest rate of consumer/mortgage/et. al. lones), higher administrative costs and other associated costs of doing business, means less or no profit. No profit means no bank.
