Right now I am loving Democrats. Thus far they have proven themselves completely incompetent to do... Well... Anything. Lets take a look at their major platforms, and see what they have done with their filibuster proof Senate, control of the House, and control of the Executive...
1. Ending the war in Iraq- Thus far there have been some troop withdrawals, based on the withdraw process set up by Bush in his last days... As far as I can tell, the Democrats have done nothing other than follow his plan.
2. Health care- This has gone nowhere. They have screwed this one up to the point of non-recognition.
3. Global Warming- Whether or not this exists, one thing is certian... The Democrats plan to do something about it does not exist.
4. Bailout everyone- They did pass something on this, however, it hasn't been put into effect in any meaningful way. The one thing they did do a good job with is bailing out the auto companies... Again.
5. Start using diplomacy- Well, they did send Bill Clinton to North Korea, and Hillary had a meltdown in Africa... I like them for keeping the Clintons out of the US... Something I have been trying to do for years.
6. Triple the budget deficit- Check.
7. Mobilize the right and disenfranchise the left- Check.
Thus far, the only thing the Democrats have actually done is make people hate them... God bless them! Oh yeah... And no Olympics. Well done! What makes this even better, is that they can just do what they want. The republicans in Congress don't have enough people to stop them. Even when they have complete control, they can't actually do anything!

I think the biggest problem they are having is in the covert/overt debate between themselves. Do they push all out socialism through right now, or sugar coat it and give us a France-like socailism lite?

i just read on an earlier post that you are in germany.did i read that right?i was in kaiserslautern 6 months then 2 1/2 yaers in karlsruhe. love germany ,i had a blast,got to see most all of free europe at the time(in the late 70,s). the army taught me to drive a truck and 32 years later im still at it.

You got that right! Of course, they don't really WANT to change anything; they like big government, they just have different ideas from the Dems on how it should look.
If anyone thinks the Republican party is the savior of this country, and I'm afraid far too many do, then they are ignorant of history at best, and a party hack at worst.

You forgot the decisive manner in wich they are handling the War in afganhistan. The hand picked General calls for more troops almost two weeks ago and yesterday we loose 8 of our troops to the rag tag militia that is essebtialy leaderless acording to all the presidents men.
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- There is no immediate danger of Afghanistan falling to the Taliban, National Security Adviser James Jones said Sunday.
National Security Adviser James Jones called for building up Afghanistan's police and military forces.
"I don't foresee the return of the Taliban," Jones said on CNN's "State of the Union." "And I want to be very clear that Afghanistan is not in danger -- imminent danger -- of falling."
President Obama is overseeing a review of U.S. strategy in Afghanistan, with his top general in that country, some other military leaders and opposition Republicans pressing him to act quickly to increase the present 68,000-troop level by up to 40,000 troops.
"This is a strategic moment," Jones, a retired Marine Corps general, said of the review that included a three-hour meeting of top Cabinet officials, generals and other advisers last week. Additional meetings are planned for the coming week.
It would be comical if we were not loosing the lives of our most treasured assets the american Soldier.
And thank GOD they can't get anything done!

I was listening to some talk radio last week and some Barry Lover called in. He was saying that it isn't important that Barry has lied to us about what he was going to do (transparency, 8% unemployment, etc). What WAS important was that Barry was a success with his own plans - whatever those might be.
The host asked him to name something Barry has accomplished. They guy said it was accomplishment enough that Barry was the most powerful person in the world. It was irrelevant that he hadn't done anything he had promised.
I actually screamed at the radio...
