“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.” — Robert A. Heinlein

Random Thoughts

I haven't been here for a while... No real reason. Basically, I blog about things I find outrageous. The problem I have been having is that right now, everything I see and hear is outrageous. Its all fairly depressing.

1. God only knows what is happening with the economy. At least under the Bush administration they would all stay on point. It was a lie, but they would be on point. Now the recession is over, unemployment will continue to rise, the automakers are "making" a profit, there is a pending collapse of the commercial property market, more bail outs might be necessary, the current bail out money is not being given out, and the money that people were going to have to pay back is just being used for future bailouts. Isn't this fun.

2. The White House has declared war on FoxNews... Who cares?

3. Health Care is the big topic of discussion... Except no one really knows what the plan is, and no one is talking about how we are going to pay for it. The one thing that is certain is that it will get out of control, see social security, and is a way to transfer income from one group of people to another.

4. Iraq and Afghanistan are still there... As is Gitmo... But now Obama has a Noble Peace Prize.

5. The Supreme Court is going to hear McDonald, which will incorporate the 2nd Amendment against the states. This is not sad face.

6. Apparently under Bush dissent is patriotic, while under Obama it is racist.

7. We have built a ship out of the rubble from the WTC, but the "Freedom Tower" construction hasn't started.

8. Glenn Beck is making more and more sense.

Did I leave anything out... It's just hard to get outraged anymore... I'm just sitting around waiting for the other shoe to drop.

"Did I leave anything out...."

1.) Called a few coin dealers today. One said "gold bullion comes in the door and then flies out". How scary.

2.) Rumor had it that my bank was going to be sold today. Apparently, the rumor was wrong. So, I have a bank account....today. Lucky me! Oh joy!

3.) A major bridge in my state has been shut down. Some people have no reasonable or timely way to get to work.

4.) The biggest telecommunications company in my state just declared bankruptcy. Their service was terrible before declaring bankruptcy. People in this region are now talking about using smoke signals to communicate because their phones and computers are unreliable even on good days.

5.) The whole Iran/Israel thing isn't looking too good. WWIII anyone?

I learned a long time ago to not believe the propoganda that coes from D.C.!

The recession is far from being over. Recovery without employment is an oxymoron!

The White House picking on Fox News
reminds me of a Mark Twain quote - do not alienate people who buy ink by the barrel.

Honestly - who didn't see this coming from last year? Other than the people that voted for and believed in Obama.

The worst part is, is that people are sucked in and believe everything that comes from the politicians mouth.

Atlas Shrugged has some eery accuracies, and it was published fifty years ago as a WARNING, not a manual as the liberal intend on using it.
