What Did You Do To Prepare This Week?

It was a good week for preparedness here. I was finally able to make time to go to the bank here and get my card fixed (for the secondary account). That let me clear up a log jam of stuff. Ordered a 4 tray Excalibur dehydrator. Excalibur seems like the company to go with and this one cost about $100 so wasn't too much more expensive than most of the competition. Also got a bunch of those eneloop batteries, a normal charger and a solar charger. A few books also.

Read a pretty long and interesting article. Got some good stuff out of it.

Went through the primary first aid kit. Replaced everything that was expired and added a few more items like neosporin, crazy glue and an Israeli bandage. I mentally added going through the medicine cabinet (actually its a closet) to my list of stuff to get around to. I need to organize what we have, tossing long expired stuff and filling any gaps that become apparent.

Next week I am going to be away for a few days. Posts are scheduled so there will be no interruptions for you folks. I don't think much is going to happen in terms of preps but that is just fine. Some weeks you do a ton and some little to nothing.

What did you do to prepare this week?

I received so many orders from prep supplies this last week, that it seemed most my energy was spent unpacking & testing the products/gear. I did purchase another Ruger 10/45 .22 pistol which allows the similar hand grip angle configuration as 1911’s, like I really needed another weapon. I have been also focusing on prepping with redundancy on common products which may fail or need spare parts. Having all the necessary products & fancy gear is great until one needs parts or one of the products fails, so some backup gear is necessary too.

Let's see I got a lot done I think. Made 2 EMP boxes. Don't know if they'll work but at least it's worth a shot. Started a compost pile, butchered 3 rabbits still have 6 to go. Started walking again. I have CIDP and had a bad flare this winter.
Baked extra bread, getting the garden ready and stored another 3 gallons of water. Scored 3 food grade buckets for $3.00 at my local store.

I've seen more links from various blogs of late to "Israeli Bandages" - at excessive prices. Your link is to a 4" bandage at $9.97.
I've procured my 6" bandages (4 so far) at North American Rescue for only $4.95 each - with FREE shipping.
Check them out, for the bandages and lots of other cool medical/EMS supplies.

Scott, The bandages are different so we are talking apples and oranges. The bandage you linked to does not have a pressure bar (as the Israeli Bandage does) to make it truly functional as a pressure bandage should it need to be.
