So the UN has come out with a report that the US dollar is unstable (who would have thunk it), and should be replaced as the international standard. CNN did a story on it which is a must read.
The focus of the entire article is about how the new international currency system will aid in the redistribution of wealth (most likely from us). Am I the only one who is freaking out, although not surprised?
Thoughts?
“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.” — Robert A. Heinlein

Well, since the Commie News Network was founded by Ted Turner, who took all his wealth that he earned by selling ad time, which was passed on to the consumer(that being you and me) and gave it to the UN, what do you expect from CNN? I am concerned that this New World Order maybe be based on the BRIC nations (Brazil, Russia, India and China).
To answer your question, NO! I freak out every day.
I replied to the wrong post the first time.
From your link:
'"There's too little aid being provided, it's too fragmented, and it's too volatile in terms of the resources that are flowing to countries," said Rob Vos, director of the development policy and analysis division of the U.N.'
Any questions?
I think one thing that has propped up the dollar has been the credit crisis in Europe, specifically iceland, then greece, and now to a lesser degree Ireland.
when those crises were developing the dollar got a big boost. I think as long as we can not suck as much as europe, we'll retain our position on top.
The survey said that "the number of the poor in the world living on less than $1.25 a day decreased from 1.8 billion in 1990 to 1.4 billion in 2005, but nearly all of this reduction was concentrated in China."
Uhm, would that be the same China that has embraced capitalism as their economic model?
Oh. Well, since it's working, lets be sure to not let that devil capitalism spread. No, no, no...
This situation (globalism) has been a runaway train for far too long. Can it be stopped? Doubtful. Too many powerful people would like to see it come to pass in their lifetimes and because the good 'ol USA is still obsessed with "things", our national sovereignty is being gradually, although more quickly, eroded. I believe this is why we paranoid wackos are concerned with our survival, no?
