“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.” — Robert A. Heinlein

I Get By With A Little Help

Having a solid network of people with somewhat varied skills is really helpful. Recently we purchased a vehicle. The way things went down Wifey's family friend ended up going to check out 2 vehicles. He made a deal and put money down on one. We got a great vehicle for a good price. It pays to have a good support network.

I think that is another area so many complain about. They put this huge weight on their shoulders when just asking simple questions of more knowledgable friends is just the help you need! You are just that help! Thank for being you!!!

Been there, done that.
Friends just acquire parts, repaired my 12 year old car, and fronted me enough to ge through May, with auto insurance and car registration due!
A good support system is awesome!

When I was young, my grandmother kept a list of the current sizes of all the children in the family and for good friends. When she went shopping at garage sales she wasn't just shopping for things that fit us, but for 20 or 30 people. I don't have a family, but I do pay close attention to what my neighbors need and when I see a good deal I pick it up without calling them. Then I can give it to them as a gift or a present.
