Well I have pneumonia. It wasn't a huge suprise as I have had a wickedly nasty cough for almost 3 weeks. It has been sort of a weird thing because aside from a wicked cough (with the caviate that I have done next to nothing physically straining since being sick) and being kind of physically and mentally tired all the time but overall I pretty decent. Turns out it is kind of an odd strain so it was hard to diagnose but eventually they figured it out. So now I am on some drugs to treat it and they seem to be working.
When I had double pneumonia back in Fall 2010 our medical folks were moderately concerned I was going to die. I was the sickest I have been in my entire life. I was barely coherant and weak as could be. Maybe I am somehow weak in the lungs or something. Who knows. Anyway.
As to the recent video and talk about 1911's and the comment on snubbies that seems to have gotten folks all bent out of shape. I have a post basically written in my head that will explain my opinions on a lot of background and conceptual stuff but just don't feel like writing it today. I am mentally just too tired to bother. My desire to argue is minimal and my desire to argue with people who aren't talking about actual facts or data is nonexistent.
I am coming to wonder if guns are a topic that cannot be talked about rationally. If I even mention that a gun is anything less than absolutely perfect folks get seriously bent out of shape. It sort of makes sense why gun rags write that every gun is just completely awesome. Then again it sort of makes sense that I think their reviews and articles are complete shite and I haven't bought a gun rag in years.
I may have called a good time to buy a couple days back but last night I finally bought PM's. Silver was at about $28.09 and Gold at about $1570. They had been slipping back up and it seemed like a good time. Who knows anyway. Tomorrow I am probably going to go bike shopping. Not sure I will get anything but I do want to see what is available here in the $300-400 price range.
For awhile I was listening to the news online at work. I listened to some Dave Ramsey too but I think I am good for that once a week or month at the most. I love his stuff but it is aweful repetetive. Over the last couple days I have stopped that and started listening to rock music instead. I read or at least skim the drudge every day and if I have time check out the BBC but music lets me drone out and be productive which is a good thing. Also the news has been making me mad lately and music gets me going so the decision is easy.
Anyway I hope you all have a good day and maybe I will put together something more on point tomorrow.
Later,

Well, not to nitpick, but its 'Caveat'.
I went all in when it was $27.75 the other day. We shall see if that was a good idea or not. Really, I don't think it matters...no matter what the price, the gold and silver will be more than worth it when the time comes that you really need it.
Guns...eh. As long as they meet your criteria of reliability, affordability, durability, and logistical availability, everything else is niggling fine details.
The Dave Ramsey stuff is repetitive, but some folks will only learn through repetition.
Ryan,
I was listening to NPR in St. Louis, today and they had a show about bicycles. The guest said: A person can find an excellent used bike for about $300-$400, at shops that have used bicycles. The guest also mentioned to stay away from "racing" bikes. He prefers a bicycle that can hold "two pounds of broccoli in a basket."
Here's the link but the show hasn't been archived, yet.

Peace, Anon
I'd add comfortability to the list too CZ.
Bacterial pneumonia Ryan? Fish get that a lot too you know. What drugs did they give you?
About those guns...
I had a Llama 1911 in .38 super that I could hit just about anything that I aimed at. Nice tight groups, yada, yada, yada.
My brother got a new Hi-Power and he got so good with it that our brother-in-law used to take him to the police range to win the "challenges".
Needless to say, I sold the Llama and bought a Hi-Power...and honestly, I can't hit the side of a barn with it compared to the Llama.
The best pistol is the one that you can hit what you aim at with, be it revolver or auto, and in the caliber you can recover from fast enough to get back on target with for the second "tap".
My advice is to ask your doctor to do a chest X-ray on you when you are totally healthy. I had a large (grapefruit size) tumor in my chest cavity that grew for years, perhaps 30 years. It was closing off the bronchia to my lower left lobe and the reduced air flow allowed that lobe to be a petri dish for bacteria. I got pneumonia every year and got sick whenever anyone in the family got sick. I was otherwise very healthy but it kept getting worse. My surgeon found it when he x-rayed me prior to an unrelated planned surgery. It required a lobectomy to remove the tumor and the lower left lobe of my lung. That was 7 years ago and at 69 years old I have not even had a cold in 7 years. Amazing! I pick up my little grandkids with their bad coughs and running noses and can play with them, kiss them and cuddle them without fear of catching what they have. I have my health back. The operation itself is horrendous and the pain is still with me but it is low enough to be manageable and I love my good health. The reason they never found it in those 30 or so years is I only got chest X-rays when I had pneumonia and the X-ray showed pneumonia as far as they could tell. I might ad that a CAT scan showed a clearly defined large grapefruit sized tumor, no question what it was.
