In every decent action, adventure, crime type drama if the main characters get into some totally crazy situation they have a black duffel bag full of guns they grab. These seem to be kept in attic's, closet's, garages and basements. Sometimes they are hidden in crazy locations.
I currently have the components necessary for this. While I have backed off on talking specifics over the last couple years folks who've been reading for awhile with decent memories know I have a fairly solid gun collection. I also happen to own a black duffel bag.
Part of the coolness of this TV staple setup is that all of the stuff is dedicated to the purpose. It takes away a lot of the utility and cool factor if things get crazy and I go dumping out my duffel from our last long trip and stuffing it with guns. Needless to say for this to be stored all together it couldn't have the pistol I carry every day either.
Allocating a certain portion of the battery for this sort of setup makes sense. It meshes well with a sort of PACE plan and spreading my proverbial eggs out. With a little bit of forethough and a few more purchases I could fill out (not totally full but worth the while) a duffel bag.

Duffel bag is so passe - how about a golf bag with wheeled dolly instead ? May not be able to hit a golf ball 200 yards away, but you can HIT a golf ball at same distance with a good rifle and practiced nut behind the butt. 8^)
I think there's a lot to be said for the duffle bag. Grab n' go with your ammo, guns, mags and some basic fighting gear. A moderate sized duffle blends in most anywhere. They're inexpensive. They work.
I think a duffle bag full o' gear, plus a decent EDC/GHB tossed in a vehicle makes an excellent plan for bugging out.
Actually, I kinda like the golf bag idea. I mean, how threatening is a golf bag ?
I've started matching up most of my rifles with a basic pistol belt (with pistol) or LBE kit and a support bag stuffed with mags, a few loads of ammo, a cleaning kit, a few cheap "foamies" for ear pro, a set of cheap safety glasss, etc. If nothing else it makes going to the range really convenient: grab the rifle, grab the matching bag, and you know you have everything you need to go shootin', even if you forget your good range bag with the high quality ear/eye pro and other fancy accessories.
It isn't that expensive... You can get an ALICE belt and a few key pouches for $10 or so, and I got a deal on clearance range bags for around $10 each so just bought a few. Even without a deal, LAPG sells "zombie hunter" bags which work great for $20.
