I like that list of 4 firearms, but I think a hide-out of some sort is essential, eventually, you are going to need it methinks.
The Ruger 10/22 - try and find an older model, the more recent NIBs guns sometimes have issues with their manufacture and parts.
11:37, I do think a very small pistol has a niche. However when we, or in this case the author, have to make some choices when talking about relatively small numbers of weapons.
Of the 4 guns listed it would be hard to convince me any should be swapped out with a very small pistol without losing a real capability. I think real case can be made for a very small pistol being gun #5.
Read "Survival Guns" by Tappan sometime. If you had less than 12-18 guns in your 'survival battery' you were clearly a fool, in his opinion. Fascinating reading.
Regarding the suggested guns in the link, That's pretty much what I tell folks. An AR (or AK), an 870 or 500, a 10/22 and a Glock of some kind. Pretty much your boilerplate end-of-the-world foundation right there.
